Welcome to the blog of our latest adventure. Julie has conferences in Holland and then in London in Nov/Dec 2014, so we decided to turn this into a cycle tour opportunity. I will fly to Frankfurt on 8 November, put the bike together at the airport, and set off for the Rhine. I will take a week to ride the Romantic Rhine, with a brief side tour up a bit of the Mosel, before finally heading for the town of Arnham in Holland, where hopefully I will link up with Julie at her conference.
After a few days, I will cycle to Amsterdam where I will connect with Julie, hire a bike for her, and we will cycle a decent loop through the windmill country south of Amsterdam. Julie flies to London for a further conference on 1 December. I will cycle back to Rotterdam, take the ferry to Harwich on the English coast in Essex, and take two days to cycle the final leg to Sunbury Court in London on 5 December.
We will fly home to Sydney on 6 December 2014. It is a total trip of about 1500k, not the biggest we have done, but to experience the wonders of the Rhine, Europe, history and culture is always to be treasured.
